Education, economic benefits possible from expansion of North Carolina school-choice program: Study

Giving parents the ability to choose what school their children attend could save North Carolina taxpayers money, among other benefits, according to a new study.

Released this week by Raleigh-based conservative think tank Civitas Institute and libertarian think tank Reason Foundation, the study said establishing a statewide education savings account program in North Carolina could improve educational and socioeconomic outcomes.

Phoenixville Leader To USDA: Extend Food Program Flexibility

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A community leader and state agriculture and education officials have the same goal this week: extend the pandemic-related food program waivers for schools, so that meal distribution isn’t disrupted for hungry kids.

Phoenixville Area School District President Blake Emmanuel has asked the USDA to extend food program waivers that made it easier to distribute meals when the pandemic began. Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (CHKP) has entered into a partnership with online learning platform Coursera to offer free cybersecurity courses as the company builds on the need for more remote work solution systems.
