UNESCO Launches 2020 State of the Education Report for India

UNESCO has launched the ‘2020 State of the Education Report for India: Vocational Education First’ report. A second edition of the State of Education Report, it focuses on technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

The report was launched virtually by UNESCO in New Delhi on Tuesday at an event with more than 400 attendees, including representatives from the government, civil society, academia, partners, and youth.

It aims to support the government with the National Skill Development Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015. The mission aims to skill over 40 crore Indians by 2022.

COVID Collaborative Launches Vaccine Education Campaign | News

The COVID Collaborative — a coalition of experts in health, education, and the economy — launched a $50 million vaccine education campaign with nonprofit advertising group the Ad Council on Nov. 23. The effort aims to inform Americans about COVID-19 vaccines and their benefits.

Harvard School of Public Health Dean Michelle A. Williams co-founded the Collaborative alongside former Domestic Policy Council and USA Freedom Corps director John M. Bridgeland ’82 and current World Health Organization Ambassador for Global Strategy Roy G. Chambers. Chambers is a member of the School of Public Health Communication Advisory Board.

TikTok Owner ByteDance Launches Education Technology Brand Dali for China | Investing News

BEIJING (Reuters) – Beijing-based ByteDance announced a standalone education technology (edtech) brand Dali for the Chinese market on Thursday, becoming another major tech player looking to capitalise on the sector’s boom driven by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dali, meaning “forceful strength” in Chinese, will host all the education business of ByteDance and already has 10,000 employees, Dali Chief Executive Chen Lin told a press conference in Beijing.

RI Launches Education Operation Center Ahead Of School Reopening

PROVIDENCE, RI — One week ahead of Gov. Gina Raimondo’s expected announcement that Rhode Island schools will reopen Sept. 14, the state announced the creation of a new team dedicated to supporting schools and the Rhode Island Department of Education as students return to classrooms.

“I am announcing now we are launching, effective today, an Education Operation Center,” Raimondo said at Monday’s news conference. “[It will be] entirely focused on providing real-time support to the schools.”
