Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced a new education plan, dubbed “Due North,” on Monday for schools in the state, ahead of the release of his state budget proposal for the next fiscal year. INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Democratic candidate for Indiana governor is trying to spur support in the last days of the campaign by highlighting the state schools superintendent position that isn’t being decided by voters for the first time in more than a century.

Woody Myers, a physician and former state health commissioner who is challenging Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb’s reelection bid, announced during Tuesday’s gubernatorial debate that he plans to appoint current state schools Superintendent Jennifer McCormick to lead the state education department if he’s elected.

Cox, Peterson clash over education funding during Utah governor debate | Local Elections

Utah gubernatorial candidates Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox and Chris Peterson both pledged that they would oppose a food tax increase if the Utah State Legislature proposed one but clashed with one another on the subject of education funding during a debate Tuesday evening.
