In what is some utterly fabulous news, Netflix has confirmed that Sex Education season three has begun filming.
The hit show’s third season was officially confirmed back in February but due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis filming was put on hold.
But now cast and crew have been able to get back to work safely, with Netflix tweeting: “NEWS : Sex Education S3 is officially in production,” alongside some aubergine emojis because, why not?
Netflix also shared a video of the cast back on set, which opened with Gillian Anderson (Dr Jean Milburn) saying: “This is me preparing for Sex Ed,” adding: “I’ve still got lockdown hair!”
The video also showed her TV son Asa Butterfield (Otis Milburn) putting on his face mask and waving goodbye to his cats as he headed back to work.
Chris Jenks (Steve Morley) was disturbed from his relaxing bath by an alarm and proceeded to hurriedly pack his bag for work, replacing a Sex Eduction 2 logo with a 3.
Connor Swindells (Adam Groff) was seen arriving at a costume fitting where he got distracted, first by a fairy costume, and then an Indiana Jones outfit (even trying on a hat).
Next was JoJo Macari (Kyle) who said: ‘I’ve got to get back to school, let’s get back to Moordale. Let’s go!’, before falling off his skateboard.
The video also featured Chinenye Ezeudu who stars as Viv, Tanya Reynolds who plays Lily and Alistair Petrie as Michael Groff.
And interestingly, Chaneil Kular (Anwar) was shown getting his entire head moulded with the caption ‘spoiler’.
The video ended with Gillian showing off her prosthetic baby bump after season 2 ended with the news Jean is pregnant.
Sex Education is available to stream on Netflix now.
