YORKTOWN, NY — Many senior students in the Hudson Valley were expecting to celebrate their final year with prom, graduation, and other milestone events. However, the new coronavirus crisis has meant that dreams and long-awaited celebrations have been put on hold.
Patch would like to shine a light on these amazing young people and their accomplishments; a new series “Celebrate Your Senior,” inviting proud parents and others to spotlight the young people whose accomplishments can’t be derailed by the pandemic.
Margaret and Jim Brady nominated Emily Brady, a senior at Yorktown High School.
Here’s what the proud parents had to say about their daughter:
“We are so very proud of all that Emily has accomplished! She is a dedicated student and an amazing person. She has worked at Rita’s and babysat regularly while maintaining her grades. She interned with SPARC in the Club Sparc program this year. She also coached YAC cheer for the past two years. She will be attending the College of St. Rose in the fall majoring in elementary and special education. We wish her and the entire senior class all the best!”
To be included in “Celebrate Your Senior!” send photos and a description of why you’re nominating your senior to be featured in a Patch post to Michael.Woyton@patch.com. Tell them why you’re proud of them and all they’ve accomplished.
