PATERSON — For the third straight year, the Paterson Board of Education is imposing a double-digit percentage increase in school property taxes.

The 12% hike in the board’s $639 million budget for 2021-22 — which was approved Wednesday night — will cost homeowners an average of $155 in additional annual property taxes. The board raised school taxes by 14% last year and by 15% in 2019-20.
