EAST SETAUKET, NY — Teachers, parents and politicians are set to rally against Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s “Re-imagining Education Initiative” Saturday afternoon in East Setauket. The event is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Kohl’s Shopping Center, located at 5000 Nesconset Highway.
The group is advocating to have K to 12 school children safely return to buildings “for the free and appropriate education they are entitled to, in September,” a spokesman said.
Cuomo unveiled a plan to “re-imagine” learning with a focus on virtual learning and technology, saying earlier in May there is a “need” to do so.
